The Recruitment Process
Recruitment
Recruitment is the process of searching the candidates for employment and stimulating them to apply for jobs in the organization (Biswas2012). Recruitment refers to the discovery and development of the sources of required personnel so that sufficient number of candidates will always be available for employment in the organization Nzuve (1997).
The purpose of recruitment is to
seek out or explore, to evaluate, to induce and to obtain commitment from the
prospective employees so as to fill up positions required for successful
operation and organization. It is also defined as the process of creating a
group of qualified candidates for vacancies within organizations (Raghavi and
Gopinathan 2013).
In both professional and non-professional fields, employment will
include an attempt to identify a diverse group of applicants with the necessary
qualifications and capabilities, and inform them of available job
opportunities. There are various methods of recruitment but for the sake of
simplicity, they have been categorized under two broad headings. (Neeraj Kumari
2013)

The objectives of recruitment process of an organization are based on the main company goals which means the management can predict about the future of the organization.sometimes there may be a growing /maintaining the same status or the declining.Basically this gives a hint of the future staff requirement of the organization.moreover, the HR department can gather the details related to the future job rolls and the qualifications which should be possessed by the candidate. This helps to decide the recruitment method (McIntyre 2010).

DeleteGalanaki (2002) had conducted a descriptive study on the decision to recruit online, involving 99 UK IT companies whose shares were traded in London stock exchange. A survey was carried out, in the form of a postal questionnaire, followed by an interview to which 34 companies replied. The author found that internet agencies provide the company with fewer but substantially better applicants than traditional recruitment agencies.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, as the world is moving rapidly on the face of IT - it would definitely be the best of methods.
DeleteThe personality tests developed to assess test takers’ possession of certain traits or personality-related abilities may be useful for predicting employees’ behaviors and outcomes across a broad array of positions (Cattell (1973).
ReplyDeleteExcellent article Ashfaq, The overall aim of the recruitment process should be to obtain, at minimum or reasonable cost, the number and quality of employees required to satisfy the human resource needs of the organization. This requires analyzing a vacancy, defining requirements and advertising (Armstrong & Taylor, 2014).
